Early Carnivals Only Had Two Or Three Rides On The Midway

Carnivals of long ago incorporated shows and circus acts, and a few rides to draw crowds.

Dakota Max Ranch Show

Look at all the performers and horses in this one show letting people know it was a family show with clean and moral refinement for ladies and children. The picture is on the Zeidman and Pollie Show from the early 1900’s and is a great image to remind us all of the entertainment people received in early America. This is the Dakota Max Ranch Show. Early Carnivals only had two or three rides on the Midway.

The Ziedman & Pollie Shows Carnival

The Ziedman & Pollie Shows was an old “Railer” and by the looks of this sagging old coach, living conditions aboard the train would have ranged somewhere in the ‘survival’ category. Remember in the 1900’s there was no air conditioning, showers, and all the modern conveniences we are used to. On the other hand the train provided a great way for the Zeidman and Pollie Carnival to get people and equipment transported. Just imagine how wonderful it was for the train to arrive bringing with it mystery, magic, excitement, and fun.
