The Railroad Transported All That Was Needed To Entertain In The Early Days of America
Carnival and Circus Trains Traveled Across America Exciting Thousands
Once upon a time, a long time ago, when the country was still young and everything was infinitely possible, mile long railroad trains loaded with colorful wagons full of exotic mysteries traveled through the darkness of night bringing the only form of entertainment that many in early America would ever experience.
The Railroad Trains Brought Entertainment to the people in America by transporting the traveling shows performers, equipment, animals, trainers, advance team, show owners, staff, costumes, and anything else needed to put on a great show.
Remembering this important part of Americana and the interesting people who spent their lives being a part of it is what we’re about here at the Showmen’s Museum.
Find out more about the history of traveling shows in America at The International Independent Showmen’s Museum, like the talker in the old photo above would have told you “The Big Show is On The Inside”.
Come see for yourself by visiting the museum.
