The Tivoli Is A Vintage Carnival Game On Display At The Museum
The Tivoli or “Tiv” was a game that incorporated marbles cascading through a maze of pins to fall into numbered areas. If you notice the red marble is at the top of the Tivoli and the string on the left hand side you can get an idea of how you play
. As you lift up the blue board by raising the string, the marble is released and works it way down through the pins to a number at the bottom. The number corresponds to the prize you win.
The marble changes courses each time play as you release it.
The best part about this game is the wonderful sound the marble makes as it works it way down the pins. You never know where the marble will end up which adds to the enjoyment of playing the Tivoli. There were different themes and versions of the Tivoli but the game had the same overall concept of releasing a marble and seeing where it landed to get the prize you won.
